Frequently Asked Questions
When should I expect photographs back?
From selection, paid shoots will have a turn-around time of 2-3 months at the very most. (I work a full-time job!) Should it take longer please feel free to open communication with me to ask about your photographs!
What sort of services do you provide post-shoot?
After our session together, I provide the following:
- A contact sheet of culled raw images, from which you are allowed to select the photographs that you would like me to edit;
- Post-processing (see next question for what post-processing I do)
- Upon completion of edits, a Pixieset download link that you can access - if we are shoot-trading/I am shooting you for TFP, then a Google Drive link will be provided instead.
What are your shooting capabilities? / What do you prefer to shoot?
I am generally able to shoot in both day and night settings. For night settings, I have LED continuous lights, flash, and modifiers available at our disposal.
I enjoy taking atmospheric/environmental photographs most, followed by portraiture and narrative. I prefer photographs where the subject is interacting with the environment, other subjects, or object(s) in some sort of way, and does not necessarily engage with the viewer via gaze alone. However, I'm more than capable of adapting my style to fit your needs, should the character call for it. Please refer to my portfolio for examples.
What sort of post-processing should I expect from my photographs?
- Color grading, to your preferences
- Basic skin retouching / smoothing / airbrushing
- Removal of most scars, acne, dark circles, etc unless specified
- Removal of elements which distract the composition, whenever possible.
Liquify, adjustment of facial features, and other specific requests must be communicated to me. Please refer to my portfolio for specific examples of my typical post-processing abilities.
Can I edit my returned photos?
I ask that you do not change any color grading or add any filters to the finished photographs. However, you are welcome to edit your face(s) further. Please notify me before you do.
Do you give back RAWs?
Generally, for paid shoots, I do not provide any sort of Camera Raw/Lightroom/Capture One editable images. However, I provide contact sheets of in-focus images from the session. You will be able to select the specified amount of photos to edit from said contact sheets.
Exceptions are made for TFP / shoot trades. See below.
Do you offer TFP/shoot trades?
I only offer TFP should I be interested in the cosplay that you are shooting. I will approach you if that is the case.
TFP will be dependent on whether or not I enjoy the fandom and character you are cosplaying from as well as whether or not I have an idea for your character.
No monetary payment is required for TFP. However, please note that it is likely that your TFP photos will only be color-graded and not retouched unless I am seeking to post them on a portfolio page. You will be required to retouch yourself in TFP cases; do not edit the color grading further. If you would like me to retouch them, please open conversation with me and I will most likely ask for a small fee.
I only offer shoot trades in the case that you are also a cosplayer who has a established and public photography portfolio.
Edits are up to the discretion of our agreement (I can edit / you can edit, or we can trade and edit each others' RAWS)
I DO NOT offer shoot trades in return for cosplays, wigs, or other goods and services provided by the model.
